Attestation and Trust Officer (ATO)

Our rapidly growing national business is looking for a full-time Attestation and Trust Officer to join our successful team. The role is field based with regional travel.

Today they operate a multi-disciplinary practice that brings the skills of Solicitors, Accountants, Chartered Tax Advisors and Chartered Financial Planners together under one roof to provide a holistic range of traditional and specialist estate and tax planning solutions to clients nationwide.

Are you a conscientious field based Estate Planning Consultant looking for a slightly different role to complement your skills? Do you have a fantastic client service background?

Purpose of Role

You will be responsible for attending attestation meetings in client’s homes on behalf of the company to ensure that estate planning documents are correctly executed and signed by the relevant parties in a correct manner.

Main responsibilities:

  • Attend attestation meetings

  • Correctly deal with the execution of legal documents

  • Explain clauses in the documentation

  • Collect any unpaid disbursements

  • Collection of the trustees STO mandate for on-going trustee fees

  • Identify further estate planning opportunities

  • Actively seek referrals for the business

Hours of Work

  • Monday to Friday 09:00hrs – 17:30hrs.You must be flexible to work evenings and weekends to accommodate client appointments.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will be someone who has a genuine interest in a field based Private Client role.

  • This role would suit an IFA or an individual with Estate Planning background or similar.

  • Experience of Trust and Estate Planning with a commercial approach.

  • A polished professional with field based experience dealing with the public.

  • Excellent interpersonal, technical and client-facing skills essential.

  • Attention to detail in dealing with legal documents signings.

  • An ability to explain technical and estate planning matters in a way members of the public can understand.

  • Adaptability, judgement and organisation.

  • Related business or equivalent professional qualification.

  • Professional and conscientious.

  • Flexible to travel across a wide geographical area.
